Dear MBCC,
As we reported earlier, the Personnel Committee is in the process of surveying the congregation to assess the possibility of shifting to a tentmaking pastoral model next year. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to respond to the survey. The idea of tentmaking and sharing the work of pastoral ministry and care in new and different ways raises a lot of exciting and important questions and concerns.
We would really like to receive input from everyone – thoughts, concerns, and questions. One way to make your voice heard is to fill out the survey – available here. If you would prefer to just talk face-to-face, members of the Personnel Committee will be hanging out at dinner after the service this Sunday and would love to chat with you.
Just as we ask questions and seek participation during sermons at MBCC, we also request your thoughts and input in running the show around here. After we receive input from the congregation, we will be meeting with Bruce, we are scheduled to interview a local pastor about his experience tentmaking, and we’ll be sharing what we learned and discussing all this in more detail at an upcoming congregational meeting early next year.
