Today is December 1, 2009, World AIDS Day. It's a chance to celebrate the achievements in the fight against AIDS. But at the same time, it's also a moment to pause and reflect on what still lies ahead to combat this global pandemic. This is also an opportunity to say thank you to the numerous walkers and sponsors of our Presbyterian team at AIDS Walk San Francisco, who each did their share to help in the fight against AIDS, by walking and sponsoring. By having a number of SF area Presbyterian churches join forces for form a large team, our team raised more funds this year than last year, despite the weak local economy. In addition, an elder on MBCC's Session works for an organization that received a grant from the money raised at this year's AIDS Walk.
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, July 18, 2010, which is the date for the next AIDS Walk San Francisco. Once again, we'll have a chance to make a difference in the fight against AIDS, by walking and sponsoring. Plus, if we qualify in advance for a team table, or better yet, a team box, we'll have our traditional post-walk BBQ. Stay tuned for details, and as always, I can be reached at marc@missionbaycc.org if you have any questions.
